SPD Holds Recognition Ceremony for Youth Cadets

POSTED ON: March 12, 2024

Last weekend, we had the privilege of recognizing the incredible dedication and hard work of our Salinas Police Cadets at the Cadet Recognition Dinner.

This program, which recently transitioned from the Explorer Program to a more formalized Cadet Program, is made up of young men and women (ages 14-21) who go through a background process to be selected. These cadets have already given over 1,300 hours of service to our community!

A special congratulations to Andrew Carrillo, who was awarded the Outstanding Cadet of the year Award! Andrew has been part of the program for six years, dedicated over 3,000 hours to serving Salinas, and recently earned the Cadet Commander position, leading his fellow cadets with honor.

We also want to recognize Kevin Low for his unwavering dedication as a longtime unpaid volunteer, helping shape and support this program through the years.

Thank you to all our cadets and volunteers for your service and commitment to making Salinas a better place!
