Salinas PD Searching for Suspect in Stabbing Homicide

Salinas, CA – On September 15, 2024, at approximately 8:30 PM, AMR ambulance responded to the intersection of Beech St. and Dewey Ave. for a 20-year-old male suffering from abdominal pain. The victim later identified as Juan Carlos Diaz-Cruz (20) was suffering from a serious stab wound to the abdomen and was rushed to Natividad Medical Center. He underwent emergency surgery. However, he died from his injury.

The investigation revealed Diaz-Cruz was in an altercation with another male when he was stabbed. While no arrests have been made at this time, Salinas Police Department Detectives have located a video depicting the suspect in this homicide. Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the adult male in the photograph.
