The Salinas Police Outreach Team (SPOT) focuses on community policing and outreach through prevention, intervention, and education. SPOT fosters positive police-community relations via communications, programs, partnerships, and volunteer opportunities, strengthening trust and addressing public safety concerns.

In 2023, the foundation was laid to launch SPOT and a Youth Diversion Program in early 2024. The team includes an administrative analyst, two community outreach assistants, and two police officers, with oversight from the Police Services Administrator, a Sergeant, and the Chief of Police. This initiative builds on existing efforts, enabling the department to make a greater impact in the community.
