POSTED ON: September 30, 2024 MEDIA CONTACT: Sophia Rome EMAIL: sophiar@ci.salinas.ca.us CONTACT TITLE: Community Relations Mgr / PIO PHONE: (831) 758-7407 Salinas, CA – On September 28, 2024, at approximately 8 PM, officers were dispatched to the victim of a shooting on the 1100 block of Pacific Ave. When Officers arrived, they located a 17-year-old male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Natividad Medical Center (NMC), where he remains in critical but stable condition. Officers continued to investigate and located a second victim, a 40-year-old male with a gun shot wound to his leg. He was treated at NMC and released. Witnesses stated they saw three males fleeing the scene of the shooting and no vehicle description was given. This is still a very active investigation, and we will not be releasing any more information at this time. Salinas PD asks anyone with information regarding this incident to call (831) 758-7321 to report it.
